World's Only Rhubarb Race Car Derby Rallies at Kitchen Kettle Village's 25th Annual Rhubarb Festival On May 16th and 17th
Intercourse, PA (PRWEB) May 2, 2008 -- Kitchen Kettle Village will host the world's only Rhubarb Race Car Derby at their 25th Annual Rhubarb Festival on May 17th from 10:00am to 4:00pm that will benefit Lancaster Farmland Trust. The two day Festival, which is the largest and oldest Rhubarb event in the United States, will kick-off on Friday, May 16th at 9:00am with the Schlossman German Band and Banjo Jimmy and his Sidemen followed by the Rhubarb Whoopie Pie Filling Contest. The Derby contestants will be able to purchase "rhubarb car kits" at the Festival for a small fee which includes pre-made wheel sets, and a self-chosen stalk of rhubarb. They then assemble their "car" and race them down an electronically timed course.
Other events include a "Best Rhubarb Dessert in Lancaster County" Baking Contest with celebrity judges, Rhubarb Arcade of Kid's Games and Crafts, food and gardening demonstrations, a Rollicking Rhubarb Stroll as well as tasty food sampling, crowning of the Rhubarb King and Queen, a variety of music and lots of family fun with a special visit from "Rhu-Barb" and "Yummie". Guests of all ages are invited to participate in the Derby as well as all other activities and contests.

? 4:30pm - Cooking with Kitchen Kettle Rhubarb Products Demonstration by Kitchen Kettle's "Food Guy" Tom Rothfus at the stage area
